Star Shrimp

What you need:

+ 1 lb. uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
+ 1/2 c. orange juice
+ 1/3 c. soy sauce
+ 1/4 c. sherry
+ 2 Tbsp. sugar
+ 1/4 c. green onions
+ 3 cloves garlic
+ 1-1/2 Tbsp. fresh ginger
+ 2-3 carambolas, sliced (star fruit)
+ 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
+ 1 Tbsp. butter
What to do:
1. Combine orange juice, soy sauce, sherry, sugar, green onion, garlic and ginger in a blender and process. Marinate the shrimp in the sauce for 1-2 hrs.
2. Strain the marinade from shrimp and reserve. Thread shrimp and carambola on skewers.
3. Grill or pan fry 2-3 min. or until opaque in center.
4. Combine cornstarch and the reserved marinade; mix well and bring to a boil. Add butter and remove from heat. Serve sauce over shrimp kabobs.
